Please call the parish office at least two months in advance of the date you wish for the baptism, since all paperwork must be received before a date can be sent. There are no baptisms during Lent except in emergencies.

In the Archdiocese of Seattle, youth may receive the Sacrament of Confirmation as early as the Seventh Grade. All youth in the Sixth Grade and above are invited to enroll in the two-year preparation program that includes participation in the Youth Ministry. Adults and children over the age of seven entering the Catholic Church without any prior Christian initiation receive the Confirmation at the Easter Vigil after taking OCIA classes.

For couples seeking Marriage at St. Columban, please call the parish office at least six months in advance of desired date. Couples seeking marriage begin with a conversation and preparation process that includes spiritual formation, relationship enrichment, and planning the liturgy. Please do not set a wedding date until you have met with the priest. One does not have to be at the point of death to receive this sacrament. The Church encourages those facing serious illness, preparing for major surgery, or struggling with the challenges of aging to receive it.

Preparation for first sacraments occurs in conjunction with the Children's Ministry (Grades K-5) and Youth Ministry (Grades 6-12) programs at St. Columban. All participants must register with the parish.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process through which adults and children over the age of reason join the Catholic Church. Through weekly gatherings, participants deepen their understanding of Scripture, the sacraments, and Catholic teaching, while growing in relationship with Christ and His Church.

Unbaptized adults – You’ll begin as a catechumen (someone preparing to be initiated) and journey toward the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and First Eucharist.
